Pinterest is big for authors. Many of us flock to this amazing site for inspiration, and it’s not hard to see why. It’s such a wonderful feeling to find the perfect image that sums up what you’re seeing in your mind—or to be totally inspired by something new. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to learn that I have a Kingdom of Exiles Pinterest board.

Kingdom of Exiles Pinterest Board

Many of you know that I find inspiration for my stories in different ways, but one of my favorite sources of inspiration is anime. Thus, you’ll find a lot of similar art styles on my board that highlight my characters and beasts.

I just want to note that I don’t own any of the art or images found on this board—they’re strictly a collection of inspirational imagery that I’ve found while browsing through Pinterest. So, without further ado, here is the Kingdom of Exiles Pinterest board!

(Pssst… Looks like the board wasn’t clickable like I expected. Or rather, it is, for the individual pins! Be sure to see the full board by clicking here.)

Now, while it was difficult for me to capture any one character or beast completely, there are a few pins that I feel do a fantastic job capturing either the vibe or appearance of something I wrote. Let’s start with the main cast, shall we?

My main female character. She’s kind of a badass. She sells beasts on the black market to survive and has an arsenal at her fingertips that she’s not afraid to use. After being exiled by her own kind, she’s used to relying only on herself and her beasts.

Ah, Noc. My heart and soul. He’s the main male character and love interest for the book, and he was also the hardest character to find on Pinterest. Even in the image below, the eyes are off, but I feel the facial structure is pretty damn close. But, I was able to find a number of artistic vibes that I felt truly encapsulating the constant brooding and angst he internally deals with throughout the novel (see the board!). He’s cold and calculating and the leader of the assassins’ guild, keeping everyone at arm’s length.

I love all of my secondary characters and would fall on a sword for any of them, but I believe Ozias is the most endearing of the bunch. He’s got a soft heart and a kind soul, despite his work as his an assassin. He’s also has a STRONG dislike of insects.

Kost might be my second favorite character in the book. I loved creating his character, his meticulous quirks and eye for fashion, color and details. He has a complicated relationship with Noc, and I adore him so much that it hurts.

Calem was hard. He’s another one I couldn’t really find on Pinterest. He’s boyish in nature with a wild charm and a no-strings-attached vibe when it comes to carnal relationships. He’s loyal to his core, but there’s something dark inside of him that makes him lose his senses when he fights.

There’s so much more I could say about my characters, (like all the members of the Council and their unique traits!) but I don’t want to spoil anything. I just hope that you fall in love with them as much as I do. So, if this piques your curiosity, scroll through my Kingdom of Exiles Pinterest board at your leisure! Enjoy.
